Do You Dress The Way You Decorate?

Because apparently I do.

It dawned on me yesterday as I was painting swatches on my dining room walls, that I matched the room completely.

I think it's pretty common. We are attracted to certain colors and patterns. Why wouldn't we use these in the home as we do in our wardrobe?

Jeans, I'm always in jeans.

And always barefoot, unless I'm going into a restaurant or a store. Shoes are for fancy people. Forget about high heels.

My husband's belt: truthfully I wore the belt because I liked the brass buckle.

The sweater matches the current color of my walls, and the tank top matches the navy blue colors under consideration.

Always blue though, plus navy or white. And if I can add a nice plaid, all the better.

Casual, and comfortable, with blue and brass. Sweaters and t-shirts with jeans.

  1. I never thought about it, but yes, I guess I do. I never actually painted a wall in my entire life, but I do like to decorate my ambient in a romantic way, which is also the way I dress. :)

  2. Yes, I think I do. No splashy colors or bold patterns, very clean and calm. That's funny

  3. We just moved and right now I was trying to figure out why the house didn't feel like home. Maybe it is the missing pieces of me that I poured into my old house. What a great thought. I enjoyed this, now I just have to figure out how to get me into these walls I now live in.

  4. What an intriguing idea. I m not sure what my style is. I find it hard to get clothes that fit and look good on me. Not that I have lost 50 pounds and it is easier to find clothes, maybe I can see if my house and I coordinate.

  5. I recently redid my kitchen n mostly gray and yellow, and I find myself gravitating to those colors in everything! You're right...I guess it stands to reason. :)
