It was one of those non-stop weekends; I was running here and there, enjoying neighborhood events, soccer for three kids, an overnight birthday celebration, and the necessary cleaning and preparation for Thanksgiving. (Thanksgiving?!)
Sunday I forced myself to just stop everything and focus on my mantle, which sounds ridiculous, I know. But I am a nester by nature, and when my home feels organized, clean, and cozy, then I am able to focus on other tasks with a clearer mind.
I cleaned everything off the mantle except the mirror and bunting, then added and edited until it felt just right.
Jason brought home two of my favorite rosemary trees, and yes, I need to find a suitable replacement for the shiny black plastic containers. But if I let that hold me back I wouldn't have finished at all. So onward with the temporary pots.
I picked up the 5 and 8 from Fleurish Home, where I spend most of my days, teaching the best methods of painting furniture and assisting the shop owner with photography, staging, and other fun projects that pop up. Hint: sweet new website coming soon!
Now I am able to focus on all eleventy-billion items on my list, but no worries, I have two full days in which to make that happen, and a family who loves me even when I only finish one or two items on that list.
