Tips for Creating an Outdoor Movie Screen

Watch a good movie with your family or friends in the backyard with an outdoor screen you’ve made from scratch. Prepare your pillows and popcorn for a unique experience under the heavenly bodies.

Here are the materials needed:

  • 3 pcs of 10- foot PVC pipes- 1/4 inch
  • 2 pcs of elbow PVC pipes- 1/4 inch
  • 2 pcs of T-joint PVC pipes- 1/4 inch
  • 6 by 9-foot drop cloth
  • Scissors and Hammer
  • 2 U-channel posts

Instructions:

Cut your 10- foot PVC pipes into 3-foot and 7-foot using a hacksaw. Save one pipe and cut it into two equal halves.

Attach your pipe elbow on the sides of your 7-foot pipe. Then, add 5-foot pipes to each end of the elbow. Add the T-joints to the 5-foot ends.

Finish your frame with the remaining 7-foot pipes. Then, attach 3-foot pipes to each section of the T-joints’ bottom.

Create a screen by cutting a cloth into a rectangle which should be about 6 by 7 feet. Before adding it to your frame, make sure it doesn’t have wrinkles. Wrap the 6-feet sides on the 7-foot pipe frames. Expect some to overlap. Secure the screen with an adhesive tape. If you want it to be more secure, you can sew the cloth around the pipe frame.

Drive your channel posts with a hammer, and make sure they are 7 feet apart. With some help, lift the screen. Slide the 3-foot pipes onto your U posts and tighten your attachments.

There you have it! Enjoy!
